Sidemount Diving Mexico – Our services are designed to guide you in all aspects of sidemount diving, keeping you safe and having fun.

Sidemount Diving Mexico started to use the sidemount configuration in 2007 in the caves of Mexico. Back then, sidemount could only be used at a few dive sites that were off the normal paths and with major restrictions. Over the years, we have witnessed, and participated in, expanding side mount diving and the development of different, out of the box sidemount equipment from X-Deep, Razor, Alien, Dive Rite and many other equipment providers.

We decided in 2010 to specialize in the regular use of sidemount equipment in our daily operation, from open water to technical and cave diving. Our favorite sidemount rig is the X-deep but we can teach and fix all the sidemount rigs on the market.

We have not abandoned other configurations but we strongly believe that if you want to teach and maintain expertise with something you must do it on a regular, daily basis.

Alberto Salvini

Diving experiences in Europe, Red sea, Lake Michigan, Maldives and Mexico Interested in outdoor activity like walking in the jungle, play soccer, fishing and exploring new places. Alberto has a vast experience in diving, lately he is focused on sidemount diving at all level, his daily diving rig is sidemount and he enjoy teaching it or just give tips about that. His favorite brand is X-Deep but he dove with most of the brand on the market and can easily teach and setup those too.

SIDEMOUNT OCEAN DIVING

Sidemount Diving Mexico is involved in sidemount diving since 2007, starting from 2010 we use daily that configuration.

We strongly believe sidemount rig has a lot of applications, from one cylinder recreational dives to a multistage deep or cave dive.

What are than the difference respect a normal back mounted cylinder:

More safe, you can control your valve and is more faster to don and doff even in current or rough sea ( especially with 1 cylinder)
If you need redundant gas source you can have it avoiding a lot of weight on you ( big double cyl)
If you know how ( proper training) you can easily walk on a boat
Photographers can have a better trim during their dives
Sidemount cylinders are more easy to handle by the boat Crew

All is based on proper training, we went on liveaboard and we were the only ones using sidemount during the dives, no one noted any difference respect the other divers, we where actually more fast to gear up respect them, one day we needed more gas for our dives and we just rigged two normal right handle cylinders for sidemount and did the dive, meanwhile the other divers has no double cylinders option and hive to do a shorter dive.

SIDEMOUNT CAVE AND CAVERN DIVING

Sidemount was born for cave exploration in England, was then used in the United States and has evolved over the years to the level it is today.

Cavern and caves are a natural environment for the daily use of the sidemount for Sidemount Diving Mexico; long walks in the jungle, difficult access to the dive sites, streamlining, redundancy and safety are some of the great applications for sidemount equipment.

We are proud to be sidemount ambassadors and use it for all of our diving applications. Our instructors and guides are very experienced in sidemount diving techniques and can give you tips, or entire courses, on it from the basics to the most advanced cave diver levels.

Are you an open water sidemount diver? We have the perfect packages for you with our Cavern Discovery Tours. Or if you are more on the adventurous side, we can teach you with our Cavern Diver course, a very challenging course where you will learn the most advanced skills to safely dive in overhead environments.
