Why learn to dive with a sidemount mccr rebreather. After diving for years with open circuit in cave at all level, i decided to get in a new step of diving sidemount mccr and started my journey with the Kiss Sidewinder mCCR rebreather.
It is a game changer and really improved my knowledge at a different level. All is changing during the course and after that you need to put hours on the machine to get more confident and discover all the tricks. It is very demanding and give you all the task loading possible for a diver with an advanced level of training.
I choose my sidemount mccr instructor based on my experience and get in a very interesting and demanding class. After completing my course i finally got my unit and started to dive it with a friend( he has a lot of hours on it). We worked a lot in open water, doing a lot of exercises and adding some sort of Reels and spools managing ( complex navigation like). I consider myself a very trained OC Diver( IANTD IT for Adv Cave Levels with more than 5000 cave dives), and i had to start everything from the beginning, PO2 check all times and managing Reel, taking data, team communication and so on. Pretty happy about myself i managed and improved quite faster.
Will start to dive the unit in Cavern and Caves soon, because is what i do mostly every day. One thing that astonished me is the facility to swim with the unit and not having noisy bubbles around, the world of silence is there and you can feel it.
I will do another post talking about my experience with the unit as soon as i put more hours on it, but at the moment i am pretty happy with my choice. sidemount mccr
